My name is Sean Morrison, PCLC. I am a Helena native with over 20 years of experience working with children and families in school settings. Throughout my career, I have focused on counseling, social work, student services, and leadership. Nearly a decade ago, my wife, our two sons and I returned to Helena where we enjoy spending time in the mountains, rivers, and forests of Montana with extended family and friends. I am very excited to serve our community as part of the team at Arrowroot Counseling.
While working with each client, I am committed to establishing trusting relationships in which every client feels safe to reflect upon their current situation, thought patterns, and behavior. While working with adults and children, I aim to empower clients to identify changes that they desire in their lives and to partner with them as they engage in the on-going process of change and growth. With all clients, I use practical and developmentally appropriate approaches to help them: identify and replace unhelpful thoughts and behaviors; learn ways to increase emotional regulation; and provide opportunities to practice strategies that they can apply to their daily lives. I believe that all of us deserve the support we need to build resiliency, establish agency, and increase self-efficacy as means to improving our lives.
I have unconditional positive regard for each client in my care, and I strive to build professional relationships that lead to the insight needed while planning and providing effective, individualized treatment. My treatment approaches include combinations of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.
